Kerry has signed to play the role of Audrey in "Little
Shop of Horrors" on Broadway. The show is being direced by Jerry
Zaks and choreography is by Kathleen Marshall. Previews begin at the
Virginia Theatre Aug. 29 and officially opens on Oct. 2. |

$375,607 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS during the "Gypsy
of the Year" competition. The total monies raised for the event
was $2,275,658!

On Nov. 10th, Kerry will be performing in a benefit called
"Hair Cares" which will be hosted by co-stars Harvey Fierstein
and Marissa Jaret Winokur at Le Bar Bat. The benefit will raise
money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and will be directed
by castmember Shoshana Bean and produced by Forrest Mallard.
Tickets
are $30 for "Hair-Hoppers" and $150 for "Council
Members." Council Members will also receive admission to a
pre-show party, best seating in the house, a gift bag and a photo

Kerry will be performing in the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's
2002 Festival of New Musicals in Manhattan which takes place on Sept.
22nd and 23rd. The following is a description (from the NAMT website)
of the show Kerry is taking part in:
Ducks and Lovers, based on the play of the same name by Murray
Schisgal, with book by Peter Gootkind and Marni Goltsman, with music
by Gootkind. It "follows the hilarious collision of the corporate
advertising world, a traditional gypsy family, and a duck." It
was seen in development as part of a BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre
Workshop, the ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop and Dramatists Guild
Musical Theater Development Program. Dan Foster directs a cast that
includes Kerry Butler (Hairspray) and Danny Gurwin (The Full Monty).

Kerry is currently in rehearsals for Hairspray
the Musical. As already reported, she is portraying Penny
Pingleton. The musical stars Marissa Jaret Winokur and Harvey Fierstein
and other featured performers in the show are Matthew Morrison as
Link Larkin, Dick Latessa (Cabaret, A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum) as Wilbur Turnblad, Clarke Thorell (Saturday Night,
Titanic) as Corny Collins and Laura Bell Bundy (Ruthless!, Guiding
Light) as Amber Von Tussle. Hairspray will play May 30-June 23 at
the Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle. It will then come to Broadway's
Neil Simon Theatre July 18 for an opening Aug. 15. Check back for
